Cal CEE Students Post their Geoenvironmental Project Reports Online and Welcome your Feedback!
Apr 29, 2021
Students of the CE176 course on Geoenvironmental Engineering (and Environmental Geotechnics), an upper level undergraduate course, worked this Spring semester in teams of 2-3 on a project. This provided students the opportunity to select a geoenvironmental topic that was of interest and learn more about it. The project, along with a presentation to their classmate next week, represents only one third of their grade.
Instead of submitting their report to the instructors (Prof. Dimitrios Zekkos and Prof. Kenichi Soga), students submitted their project online.
Geo-professionals are invited to take a look at the projects and provide any feedback/comments by posting them at the end of the page. Comments posted by May 7th will be incorporated/addressed by the students.
Although not tested this year, studies have shown that students prefer a web-based project to a conventional project and are more motivated to work harder and submit high quality work. Students are also more enthusiastic about receiving feedback from professionals in the field and liked the idea that their project will remain online in the future.
The students and student project titles are listed below, along with a link to their project.
